2023 Ni'jah, KIRBY, Childish Gambino - Swarm 6.4
This was a soundtrack for the new Donald Glover show of the same title (WHICH IM LOVING SO FAR, I AM 3 EPS IN). The last track, which is the only one with Glover (who goes by the stage name Childish Gambino) on it is...not good. What I assume are KIRBYs vocals on the other tracks are great though. Fun for a lil 18m EP

2023 100 Gecs - 10,000 Gecs 8.0
this album was full of fun, but meaningless lyrics that were sometimes downright cringy. Despite this, it was very enjoyable. The hooks were great and catchy, and it was fantastic instrumentally, with it's weird-ass chimera of hyperpop, punk and death metal. The vocals were kinda whiney at points, reminiscent of the early to mid 2000s Emo and Punk singers, whom I hate, that clearly influenced Dylan and Laura (who I didn't know the names of until today). The production was unlike anything else I've ever heard, and that increased the score by a bit. I didn't like the track Frog On The Floor though.

2020 Ant Clemons - HAPPY 2 BE HERE 8.1
very very pretty album, with very pretty vocals and instrumentals. The lyrics were great too. It kind of lacked variety though, which brung the score down.

I usually play a game that doesn't require heaps of concentration so that I can concentrate on the music (because I can't focus on one thing at a time. It's why I'm biting my nails so often, I don't have anything to fiddle with). I don't usually check the lyrics unless something really stands out and makes me go "no way did they say that" or "wait wait wait that wordplay was fucking amazing" yk? Everything lyrically comes from what I hear.

2019 100 gecs - 1000 gecs 7.4
Although the lyrics were still fun and meant nothing, it was never cringe, like 10,000 gecs sometimes had. Instead, the lyrics were very charming. Despite the lyrics being much better, the instrumentals just... weren't as good as their new record. It was hyperpop, pushing the genre to its limits, which sometimes created moments that sounded amazing, but sometimes created downright awful moments.

seperate post because I don't want that post to have anything to do with Samus.
Please don't bring this bullshit into my thread. I agree with what Acky was saying, you shouldn't take this into an unrelated thread. I understand you can't DM me, but that is the point of me blocking you. You were never super creepy to me, but you were always off-putting, pissing me off for no observable reason. Whilst expressing this feeling with a few people from this site, one told me how weirdly sexual you were to them in DMs. I never saw many of your forum posts as I am not super active on the forum, but what I have seen is weird. That's not even including the fact that you're obviously lying about your age and the fact that you asked for porn to watch on your Switch — like man have some restraint, we don't need to hear about your fucking porn habits. Please don't speak to me again.

To that Nirvana thing, I think they were overrated because they were so different from other music at the time. But, really, I gotta agree. The true kings of grunge, in my opinion, will always be Melvins and Soundgarden. What's your favorite grunge or grunge-adjacent group/artist?

2017 Kendrick Lamar - DAMN. 7.8
(relisten)
despite being his most popular, most award winning, most enjoyed album, this is his worst. This album has the least recognisable beat selection, least unique elements, and the least meaningful discussions throughout his entire discography. This album feels as though it was made for radio. That being said, this album shows Kendrick's rapping ability at its peak, which is what won him the Pulitzer prize, the first one given to a non-jazz or classical album.

woah
woaaaahhh
this album was so diverse, but it all still felt connected. All the vocals were amazing, so were the verses, choruses, and some of the effects were just amazing. the last song stunned me with the massive tone and genre switch, but it still felt like a really good ending to the album. WOULD RECOMMEND

1998 Outkast - Aquemini 9.4
(relisten)
this album is filled with amazing instrumentals - very chill without becoming boring. These instrumentals were played on real instruments, which, whilst done rarely, always adds so much to a rap album. The verses were amazing, showing off the legendary André 3000's penmanship. Big Boi was good too. It pulled off it's 1h15m time with great structure, and without having the listener loose attention
