Dunno if anybody's even going to be on, considering most of us are probably with family right now, but I thought it might be fun for people to be able to post "Happy New Year!" whenever it hits twelve where they are.

Did early Chinese have a different new year? Enquiring minds want to know.

@Dave it's not that late. There are technically 7 days of celebration

@Diav I guess they did. You got to remember people basically made up calendars and the Chinese and Greeks (I think our current calendar is Georgian calendar or something) had different ideas on which day to decide as the first day of the year. Each probably had a different astrological significance. I know for one Chinese calendar is following lunar cycles, but not sure why the first is actually the first. Asking my dad now
