ForumGeneral Discussion ► Avatars
So, I want to know, what is your avatar? What is it exactly? And why'd you choose it? I'll go first.

My avatar, at the moment, is a photograph of Albert Camus. He is my favorite philosopher. I love his books and he has that air of classical sophistication about him. Popped collars and unlit cigarettes in mouths are classy, in case you didn't know.

My avatar is a cell of Yersinia Pestis, commonly known as the Bubonic Plague. I have an obsession with the Black Death.

Sounds sadistic. :D

I thought it was just some neon tubes. But I can see on closer examination that they do like what is described.

The Black Death was my 5th Grade science project and got me obsessed with learning about disease.

Mine is Wallace Wells, from the Scott Pilgrim comics. I chose it because Wallace is awesome, and probably my favorite character from one of my favorite comic/movie. I also thought it appropriate, because at the time there were several people asking for my help with various things. Advice and whatnot. I found the whole situation to be odd, so I thought I'd make my avatar Scott Pilgrim's mentor/voice of reason.

I thought it would be appropriate, as Wallace gives alright advice, but doesn't exactly act as the best role model. Which is kind of what I felt I was doing at the time. Also I have other similarities that I'll leave others to interpret. :P

I also just think it looks cool.

Mine is a bird. I like birds. I also like simplicity. This avatar has both.

I feel like a tool, I probably put more thought into mine than most. I was actually thinking about it in the back of my head for several days when I decided to ditch Vault Boy.

Mine is 2D from Gorillaz. There's no real reason for it besides me just liking 2D. Deep, huh? :P

At the moment, mine is Marceline from Adventure Time. My favorite character on one of my favorite shows.

2D is a cool character per se. Even cooler if you are aware of the Gorillaz. The Gorillaz is a band with really interesting characters.

are you implying that other people's avatars don't have meaning and thought behind them? because my avatar totally has meaning and things like that. it's like, a purple...blob...and stuff...ahhh who am I kidding. it's a purple blob thinger that I drew because I got bored. also I think it's cute and/or sexy.

I do lots of doodles with this particular theme.

I'm just saying I put too much thought into mine. I'm sure others have meaning as well.

I Google searched for images that would fit the requirements, and this was one of the choices.

Apocolypse is not a word.

Mine is a picture of Dev because I like her music, and her videos are sketchy just like I am! :D

Mine is my eye with my monocle on it. I sure love this monocle.

Oh, he knows the Gorillaz.

Mine is ironic: I made it on MS Paint, so I could make it really small and not have to use the complicated file size reducer things, but even though I made it as small as my patience would allow, I still had to resize it. I ended up learning, but still don't like it. Don't feel like changing it.

Mine is self-made, in Gimp. I used a Rorschach inkblot, cut it out, and pasted it onto a backround consisting of some flames that I tinted green using color hue tools. The, resized, and voila, my avatar for everywhere. It's completely unique, unless someone takes it.

I have no idea who's in my avatar. I have it saved on my computer as "happygirl.png." I think I must have found it on 4chan.

Mine's a Chaos star from the Warhammer universe.

It's a universe that I really enjoy reading about, and I'm a big fan of chaos.

Guess. I'm pretty sure you guys know.

Ok, it's a Mushmom from MapleStory. Used to be a really popular boss to kill (it dropped rare items) but they've nerfed her.

My avatar is intended to warn you that I talk too much and this is the precise digital location at which I will be doing it.

You'll notice that cow isn't walking across the road. She's standing there. It seems more accurate that way.

My avatar is from an anime my friend showed me.

Mine is a drawing by Bertie Blackman, called The Killer Polar Bear. I like it.

Mine is Craig Jones, from SlipKnoT.
Or you can call him "133" if you want to, or "The silent one".
