Not weird. I think. It helps to have it out in case you suddenly forget something, but when I'm playing a song for a concert I usually just look up towards the conductor to help with tempo or focus on playing it right. You? Do jazz ensembles have conductors?

Depends. There are different types of jazz bands. If it is just like 5 people getting together to put on a gig or to do a jazz combo or something, most likely not. But Im pretty sure big bang style jazz bands have conductors

No, bad. Bad bug.

Is bug a dog now?

Bug is a bug

big bang style jazz bands

I will guess that's another name for space jazz.

As a frequent note-reader and jazz band conductor, let me first just say that no, we do not exist.

Do normal people read their sheet music while playing?
In my case, yeah. I do, even if I know the piece. Usually I prop up my music on a stand and position it so that I can still watch the conductor from the corner of my eye.

No, bad. Bad bug. Colleges are great. All of you should go to college and get at least a bachelor’s degree if you can. But don’t fall into the trap of thinking that you have to go to a “good” school. Community college is still college. I wish I had gone to my to home town’s community college instead of the one I went to. But all of you should go to college because it opens the doors to so many more jobs than you’d imagine.

i understand the purpose of college but that doesn't take away from the fact that its a scam. in my state you can't get bachelor degrees from a community college, only associates. its the same in a lot of other places im sure. i cant do the job that i want to do without going to 2 different colleges. i could take student loans and go to a regular college that specializes in what i want to do and only go to one college but then i will be in debt for the next 10 years. i don't have the opportunities most people do and there are lots of other people like me who don't have those opportunities either. college is not accessible and they make it super hard to even apply for financial aid let alone get into college. all im saying is that they could make it better and more efficient for everyone. especially for the people who don't want to make minimum wage or have to do heavy labor jobs for the rest of their lives. i don't think college is a bad thing but i do think its very limiting and the way it is now is just not helpful

I'm probably going to get an Associate of Arts degree by the time I graduate high school 'cos of dual enrollment and stuff. Is this, like, a good thing or is it too insignificant to matter? I don't know anything about degrees. I actually know barely anything about college in the first place, to be honest.

^Thats pretty damn good for right out of high school. What kind of degrees you need depends a lot on what you want to do later in life. What kind of job you want and etc.

Also @bug I can’t talk because I will indeed be in debt for many years. I’m rethinking what I said last night because I have been in school for about 10 years since I finished high school and have been taking out heavy federal loans each time. I’m doing this strictly because I want to though. Undergrad: yes that was because of opportunities. After undergrad: no, that had nothing to do with opportunities. I worked my god damn ass off to get here.

i hate debt
also theki i wish i wouldve done dual enrollment but my parents didnt know it was a thing and by proxy i didn't know and now it has cost me 4 years of my life

Not everyone should need to post-secondary school. Not every job requires it. Just puts people who aren't already wealthy in debt.

pretty much

Yes, yes, yes x1000. Listen to antagonist, not me.

Remember kids, listen to Aunty Anty and not Aunty Anti.

i think it just sucks that the only practical career i could pursue requires a college education

Thinking.

What you thinking about?

Listen to me on certain things… maybe. Idk, maybe not, I’m stupid.
Edit: listen to me at your own risk. How about that?

I just got the perfect song idea in my head. I can hear every part of it in my mind. I would make it if I knew how, and I know I'm going to forget it eventually.

College is a scam for sure, that's why I try to get out of paying absolutely any amount of money I can to my school; literally planning to dispute a $10 room fine rn lol. I think people should choose the option they feel is best for them, whether it's college, trade school, an apprenticeship, or going straight to work, rather than feeling pressured into one path or another.

That sounds hella frustrating for sure. Like entertaining and fun, but frustrating in a way too.

What bout Uncle J-Rob?

Also I def wasted money on college, but I had a great time there so wish I'd just gone to hang out for 3 years.

Wait why am I “aunty”?

it rhymes

Rhymes are more important than gender.

J-Rob, you're a god damn liability. Go see a doctor.
